Considering the Thunderbirds have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Sela Rodriguez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Penina Tali, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Rihana Faiumu-Vanilau also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Kira Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Madison Davis, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Bettye Davis East Anchorage's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Service, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Everything went Bettye Davis East Anchorage's way against Service in their previous meeting back in April, as Bettye Davis East Anchorage made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbirds since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
