Basketball Recap: Bloomington North Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Bloomington North came into Thursday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy 60-43 victory over the Perry Meridian Falcons on Thursday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Falcons are ranked 316th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bloomington North's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rilynn Williams led the charge by going 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points and six steals. Those six steals gave Williams a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Robbennolt, who posted 12 points.

Perry Meridian's loss came despite strong showings from Mariah Thomas and Hailey Mullins. Thomas put up 11 points along with six boards and five assists, while Mullins went 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points and eight rebounds. Ally Raymer was another key player, putting up six points.

The win got Bloomington North back to even at 7-7. As for Perry Meridian, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Bloomington North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-40 victory against Mooresville on the 27th. As for Perry Meridian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-40 defeat against Lowell on the 27th.
