Victor is 0-10 against Darby since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Victor Pirates will head out on the road to challenge the Darby Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Victor and five for Darby.
Victor suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 65-18 loss at the hands of Lincoln. Victor was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-11.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 70-25, which was the final score in Darby's tilt against Arlee on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Darby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Arlee is ranked 38th).
Victor now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Darby, they dropped their record down to 4-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Victor was dealt a bruising 60-32 loss at the hands of Darby in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Victor avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
