AA District 15 recap Oct. 9, 2012
Kingsbury took down Washington 38-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Falcons led AA District 15 in scoring this week after putting up 38 points on the Warriors.
Manassas's dynamic duo of Jordan Pegues and Melvin Bond proved tough for Memphis Central to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Pegues threw for 147 yards and one touchdown and Bond had 75 yards receiving. Chiris Long helped Manassas' passing attack out by catching two balls for 20 yards.
Jordan Spencer was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 82 yards on 14 carries as Trezevant fell to the Warriors. Jamal Jones also contributed to the rushing game with 26 yards on the ground.
The Bears' Spencer and Lemarcus Stewart have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Spencer has thrown for 518 yards this season, while Stewart, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has nine catches for 220 yards. Bond from Manassas leads the league in rushing with 913 yards.
Bond of the Carl Coleman's team is only 87 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in AA District 15 this week will be when the Tigers take on the Red Devils. As it stands, Manassas is in second, while Douglass is in fifth.
Trezevant fell 10-6 to Millington Central in the closest game of the week. Spencer was a bright spot for Teli White's team, as he threw for 50 yards in the loss.
