Baseball Game Preview: Jourdanton Indians/Squaws vs. Randolph Ro-Hawks

For the second straight game, Jourdanton will face off against Randolph. The Indians/Squaws will host the Ro-Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jourdanton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Randolph's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Jourdanton came out on top against Randolph on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Indians/Squaws put the hurt on the Ro-Hawks with a sharp 11-3 victory. The Indians/Squaws might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Ryan Aguilar was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February.

In other pitching news, Jourdanton got a great performance from Reagan Baker as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, Reid Powell was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braden Griego, who went 1-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Jourdanton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Jourdanton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Randolph, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-8 record.
