The Hughson Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They were the victim of a rough 70-46 loss at the hands of Escalon. While losing is never fun, Hughson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 895th, while Escalon is ranked 354th).
When it comes to explaining why Hughson lost, one person who can't be blamed is Deagan Bell. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with six rebounds. David Delgado was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Hughson dropped their record down to 10-15 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Escalon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-6.
Hughson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Escalon, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 81-53 win vs. Hilmar on the 9th.
