With a big week,
Southridge jumped into the top 25 in the state rankings. Southridge moved up from No. 28 in the state all the way to No. 24 thanks to a 1-0 record over the past week. Led by manager Don Fitzgerald, the Skyhawks are ranked No. 3033 in the nation with an overall record of 15-12.
Blake Lorentz was the best pitcher in 6A Metro this week, leading
Beaverton. He won zero games and struck out four batters.
The Skyhawks' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing five hits and four walks to lead the league in both categories. Southridge has given up a mere 180 hits on the year, while striking out 145 opposing hitters.
Luke Merkel is the leader in that category with 49 Ks on the season.
The Beavers's
Mitch Allen led the league in strikeouts this week with four. With 47 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks second in the league.
