The Northwest Jaguars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 58-35 loss at the hands of Poolesville. Northwest has not had much luck with Poolesville recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Leading Poolesville to victory were Alex Sosna and Breanna Salovich. Sosna scored 12 points along with five steals and two blocks, while Salovich scored 21 points along with five assists. Sosna has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Kate Dacanay was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Northwest dropped their record down to 2-12 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.4 points per game. As for Poolesville, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Northwest will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Gaithersburg on February 13th. Northwest is facing Gaithersburg at the right time seeing as Gaithersburg is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Poolesville, they will head out on the road to challenge Magruder at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Poolesville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday.
