The Lewistown Indians lost against the Brown County Hornets back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Lewistown took a serious blow against Brown County, falling 70-38. While losing is never fun, Lewistown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Brown County is ranked 128th).
Despite the loss, Lewistown still got an impressive performance from Landry Smith, who scored 16 points along with five assists. The match was Smith's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Makenna Johnson, who scored eight points.
Lewistown now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Brown County, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Lewistown will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on January 8th. Liberty is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Brown County, they will face off against Mendon Unity at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mendon Unity has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
