The Williams Valley Vikings will look to defend their home field  on Saturday against the Catasauqua Rough Riders at 7:00  p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
 Williams Valley had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They claimed a resounding  49-14 win over Tri-Valley at home. The  matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached  28-7.
  Alex Achenbach was  his usual excellent self, rushing for 201 yards and  a touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picking up 45 receiving yards. Achenbach is on a roll when it comes to  rushing yards, as he's now  rushed for 100 or more in the last ten games he's played. Another player making a difference was  Brady Shomper, who threw for 86 yards and three touchdowns on only six passes.
 Meanwhile, Catasauqua had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against Salisbury Township as Catasauqua made off with a  35-14 victory. Given Catasauqua's advantage  in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings  (they are ranked 259th, while Salisbury Township is ranked 524th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Catasauqua's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Hunter Reitz, who rushed for 108 yards and three touchdowns.  Rodney Brodie was another key contributor, picking up 107 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
 Williams Valley's victory was  their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.8 points per game. As for Catasauqua, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
