While losing is never fun, Crystal City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1071st, while Gregory-Portland is ranked 482nd).
Gregory-Portland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bella Davis, who scored 18 points along with 5 rebounds. Mya Bailess was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Crystal City's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Gregory-Portland, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crystal City will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jourdanton at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. As for Gregory-Portland, they will be playing at home against Robstown at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
