The Millard South Patriots will be taking part in a tournament against the Elkhorn South Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Millard South knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Elkhorn South likes a good challenge.
On Tuesday, Millard South got the win against Norfolk by a conclusive 11-1. Considering the Patriots have won 12 contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jacob Altstadt looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Blake McAndrews was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 16 games. Jaxson Appuhn was another key player, earning three RBI and one run.
Millard South was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. They are a perfect 14-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Elkhorn South faced Papillion-LaVista in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Storm came out on top against the Monarchs by a score of 9-4. The game was the first time the Storm have beaten the Monarchs on their field since April 8, 2019.
Mason Ek looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Tyler Lofdahl and Johnny Cotten did most of the damage at the plate: Lofdahl went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Cotten got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Markus Gorup, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Elkhorn South is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Millard South, their win bumped their record up to 19-7.
