The Olney Cubs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Colorado by a score of 46-43. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Colorado's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mayson Monroe, who rushed for 153 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 36 yards and a touchdown. Monroe really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Another player making a difference was Ezik Hernandez, who rushed for 186 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.
Olney's defeat was their third straight on the road , which bumped their record down to 3-6. As for Colorado, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8.
Olney will take on Winters at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Colorado, they will head out on the road to face off against Stamford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Stamford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Friday.
