The Millsap Bulldogs were the 38-18 winner over the Merkel Badgers when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Millsap suffered a rough 41-20 loss at the hands of Merkel on Friday. Millsap has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
CR Tippie threw for 147 yards and a touchdown. Reid Green was his top target, rushing for ten yards. On the ground, Noah Perricone rushed for 46 yards.
Connor Willyerd had an outrageously good game for Merkel as he rushed for 257 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 9.5 yards per carry. Willyerd was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards.
Millsap's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Merkel, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Millsap will head out on the road to face off against City View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Merkel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
