Baseball Recap: Lake Norman Charter Comes Up Short

Lake Norman Charter fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Pro Stock Royals Academy on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Royals. The Knights just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Lake Norman Charter saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Cook, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The Knights are 5-2 when Cook posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise.

Lake Norman Charter's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Pro Stock Royals Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.

Looking ahead, Lake Norman Charter will square off against South Rowan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pro Stock Royals Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against York Prep at 6:00 p.m. Considering the Royals have lost three straight at home and the Patriots six straight on the road, this one might come down to who's more desperate to change their momentum.
