Rocky Mountain hasn't had much luck against Owyhee recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Grizzlies will head out on the road to challenge the Storm at 6:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rocky Mountain 3.2, Owyhee 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Rocky Mountain is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Mountain View, who was ranked sixth at the time (Rocky Mountain was ranked eighth). The Grizzlies came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mavericks on Thursday, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Grizzlies have posted against the Mavericks since April 13, 2023.
Reece Hudson tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Rocky Mountain saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Frasure, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave Frasure a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Owyhee strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Ridgevue a 5-0 shutout.
Hunter Mahaffey looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Cohen Cole was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Cade Walker was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Owyhee pushed their record up to 15-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Rocky Mountain, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Rocky Mountain has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Owyhee struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Rocky Mountain came up short against Owyhee in their previous matchup back in March, falling 9-6. Can the Grizzlies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
