After two games on the road, Summit is heading back home. They will take on The Eagle Valley Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Summit is ranked 116th, while Eagle Valley is ranked 134th).
Summit pushed their score all the way to 33 two weeks ago, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 50-33 fall against Glenwood Springs.
Eagle Valley can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Glenwood Springs 19-16. The win was just what Eagle Valley needed coming off of a 48-7 defeat in their prior match.
Eagle Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Elias Pena, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Caiven Lake was another key contributor, throwing for 130 yards and a touchdown.
Summit now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Eagle Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
Summit skirted past Eagle Valley 2-0 in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Will Summit repeat their success, or does Eagle Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
