The Heidelberg Oilers won the last time they faced the Richton Rebels, and things went their way on Thursday too. Heidelberg enjoyed a cozy 59-42 win over Richton. Given Heidelberg's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Richton is ranked 236th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Richton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nylah Robins, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Heidelberg pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Richton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heidelberg won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against North Forrest at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for Richton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Collins at 6:00 p.m.
