Monroe got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Saniya Wallace out in front who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Wallace is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Summer Jones, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds.
Monroe's victory bumped their record up to 5-12. As for West Stanly, they now have a losing record at 10-11.
Monroe will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Anson is ranked 502nd, while the Redhawks are ranked 497th). As for West Stanly, they will head out on the road to challenge the Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
