For the second straight game, Cookeville will face off against Wilson Central. The Cavaliers will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cookeville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Cookeville took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over Wilson Central. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Landen Severance made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Severance wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cole Teeters, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits Teeters has posted since back in March. Another was Ty Harrison, who scored a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Cookeville's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Wilson Central, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.
