Indiana Math & Science Academy North came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Irvington Preparatory Academy, but Emma Cline wouldn't allow it. Irvington Preparatory Academy blew past Indiana Math & Science Academy North 3-0 on Friday thanks in part to Cline, who had 12 aces. She has been hot recently, having posted five or more aces the last four times she's played.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Irvington Preparatory Academy took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-11, 25-8.
Meanwhile, Central Christian Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Providence Cristo Rey two weeks ago and fell 3-2. While the Chargers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolves 25-18 in the first set.
Central Christian Academy actually scored more points across those five sets (110-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 16-25, 29-27, 25-21, 15-12.
Central Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Irvington Preparatory Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Central Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in September, winning 2-0.
