The Freeport Falcons will face off against the North Yarmouth Academy Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
North Yarmouth Academy will be up against a hot Freeport team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Falcons never let Morse get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on May 5th. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Falcons this season.

Piper Larochelle made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Isabella George and Ali Brown did most of the damage at the plate: George went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Brown got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs George has posted since back in April of 2024. Lilliana Larochelle was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Freeport always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, North Yarmouth Academy got the win against Old Orchard Beach on Wednesday by a conclusive 16-1. Considering the Panthers have won seven matches by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Freeport, North Yarmouth Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Lily Fortin. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Fortin was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, Jordan Nash was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Sadie Morgan, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Freeport's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for North Yarmouth Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Freeport has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like North Yarmouth Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .517. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Freeport might still be hurting after the 8-2 defeat they got from North Yarmouth Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024.
