The Stroudsburg Mountaineers's four-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Tuesday. They walked away with a 43-36 win over Easton Area. This was payback for Stroudsburg, who suffered a 93-52 loss the last time these two teams met.
When it comes to explaining why Easton Area lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ryan Cornish. Despite the final result, he scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that Cornish scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jack Grimmer, who scored eight points.
Stroudsburg's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Easton Area, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Stroudsburg will head out on the road to face off against Whitehall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Easton Area will be home for the holidays to greet Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Freedom is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
