The Romulus Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 78-10 victory over Garden City at home. Romulus has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Romulus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Karma Jones-Johnson led the charge by dropping a triple-double on ten points, 11 assists, and ten steals. Jones-Johnson hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Samaira Searcy was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Romulus pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points per game. As for Garden City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.
Romulus will head out on the road to square off against Melvindale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Melvindale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 661st, while Romulus is ranked 138th). As for Garden City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Thurston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
