Archimedean suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They took a serious blow against MAST Academy, falling 68-36. Archimedean has not had much luck with MAST Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Archimedean got a solid performance out of Joseph Vega, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 58.3% of Archimedean's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was David Lopez-Lantigua, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Archimedean struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Cushman scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They breezed by Colonial Christian at home to the tune of 79-34. That 45 points margin sets a new team best for Cushman this season.
Archimedean's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Cushman, their win bumped their record up to 10-5.
Archimedean came up short against Cushman in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 62-49. Can Archimedean avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
