McPherson scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Mulvane, 35-30. At the time, the Wildcats was ranked 14th in the state, while the Bullpups was 29th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Mulvane, who took down 14th ranked Mulvane, 35-30. Kyler Kinnamon threw for 178 yards and two touchdowns, ran for 94 yards and caught four passes for 74 yards in the win.
David Fennewald's team's Ty Redington and Alex Evans have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division III in both passing and receiving yards. Redington has thrown for 1036 yards this season, while Evans, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 36 catches for 663 yards. McPherson's Austin Obannon leads the league in rushing yards with 566.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Winfield takes on the Wildcats. The Vikings are currently in fourth, while Mulvane is in first.
