The Ferriday Trojans lost a heartbreaker to the Rayville Hornets when they met back in September of 2021, and they left with a heavy heart again on Friday. Ferriday lost to Rayville at home by a decisive 52-34 margin. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Despite the loss, Ferriday still got an impressive performance from Chris Reed jr, who picked up 85 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Reed jr was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards. Taevion Edwards was another key contributor, rushing for 134 yards.
Ferriday's defeat was their third straight at home , which bumped their record down to 4-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Rayville, Mangham, and Oak Grove. As for Rayville, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Ferriday will be playing at home against Jonesboro-Hodge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rayville, they will head out on the road to face off against Loreauville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
