After a string of three wins, the Corrigan-Camden Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 70-39 loss at the hands of Martins Mill. While losing is never fun, Corrigan-Camden can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while Martins Mill is ranked 95th).
Despite the loss, Corrigan-Camden had strong showings from Tony Cooper, who scored 16 points along with 3 steals, and Brodgrick Price, who scored 8 points. The matchup was Cooper's 12th in a row with at least ten points.
It was another big night for Jak Kinder, who went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 4 assists for Martins Mill. That makes it two consecutive games in which Kinder has scored at least 25% of Martins Mill's points. Travis Baber was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals.
Corrigan-Camden's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Martins Mill, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Corrigan-Camden will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Chireno at 5:15 p.m. on December 9th. Chireno is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games. As for Martins Mill, they will take on San Augustine at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday.
