Oviedo extended the longest winning streak in 7A District 3 this week by beating Edgewater, 20-19. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Oak Ridge led the league in scoring this week after putting up 28 points on Winter Springs.
The Fightin' Eagles' JB Woodman and Tim Miller have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Woodman has thrown for 950 yards this season, while Miller, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 26 catches for 361 yards. Jurell Green from Oviedo leads the league in rushing with 998 yards.
Wes Allen's team's Green needs only two yards against the Pioneers next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
Two of the top units in 7A District 3 will face off this week when the Lions take on Oak Ridge. Oviedo's offense has scored 244 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Elijah Williams' team has allowed only 107 on the year.
