The Hampton Talbots will head out on the road to take on the Highlands Golden Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hampton is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Highlands in Pennsylvania (Hampton is ranked 46th, while Highlands is ranked 151st).
After a string of seven wins, Hampton's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Butler by a score of 55-52. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Hampton has suffered yet this season.
Meanwhile, even though Bishop Canevin scored an imposing 70 points on Tuesday, Highlands still came out on top. Highlands took their matchup against Bishop Canevin 78-70.
Hampton's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-3. As for Highlands, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Hampton was able to grind out a solid win over Highlands in their previous meeting on January 2nd, winning 49-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hampton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
