Valley and Minford are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Indians will be playing at home against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Valley 3.7, Minford 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Friday, Valley was able to grind out a solid victory over Waverly, taking the game 5-1. The win continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.
Meanwhile, while Minford put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Manchester. The Falcons put the hurt on the Greyhounds with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
Mason Bradley made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Minford got a big performance out of Colby Mullens, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Mullens has hit this season. Carter Frazie was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Minford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Manchester only posted an OBP of .304.
Valley's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Minford, their victory bumped their record up to 13-1.
Everything went Valley's way against Minford in their previous meeting last Wednesday, as Valley made off with a 6-0 win. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
