Taylor has been on the road for five straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Tri-Central Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought game, but Taylor had to settle for a 42-40 loss against the Gophers.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Javionne Harris, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Connor Binnion was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Tri-Central pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 71-60 to Carroll. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Tri-Central in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost five in a row.
Like Tri-Central, they lost despite seeing results from several players. Drake Ramseyer led the charge by scoring 18 points along with two steals. Ramseyer has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenton Patz, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Taylor's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5. As for Tri-Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
Taylor strolled past the Trojans in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 70-55. Will Taylor repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
