It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Peach County Trojans can now relate to. They fell just short of Savannah Christian by a score of 48-46. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (43), Peach County still had to take the loss.
Don "dj" hudson jr. and Dylan Johnson certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. "dj" hudson jr. threw for 307 yards and five touchdowns, while Johnson picked up 183 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Savannah Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Blaise Thomas out in front who threw for 203 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Zo Smalls also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
Peach County bumped their record down to 4-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only three points. As for Savannah Christian, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Peach County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Savannah Christian will face off against Morgan County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Morgan County will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
