The Clinton County Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Cumberland County Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clinton County is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Saturday, Clinton County opened the new year with a less-than-successful 42-35 loss to Bowling Green. While losing is never fun, Clinton County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Bowling Green is ranked 22nd).
Cumberland County posted their biggest win yet this season on Monday. They blew past Todd County Central 61-40.
Clinton County has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Cumberland County, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Clinton County didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Cumberland County in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 46-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clinton County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
