Mallard Creek (Charlotte, N.C.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat Hopewell (Huntersville, N.C.), 42-0, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run in the first quarter, the Mavericks led 28-0 at the half.
Mallard Creek expanded its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. MC's lone score in the quarter came on a kick return.
With the win the Charlotte school extended its winning streak to seven games. The Mavericks defeated the Vikings 72-7 last week.
Mallard Creek's standout player in the win was
Marquez North. The senior wide receiver ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. A member of the Top 25 Wide Receivers, North has now scored 16 touchdowns on the season.

Brian Walker, MC had given up an average of 9.7 points prior to the contest.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 65-6 win for the Mavericks.
The loss comes after Hopewell defeated Mooresville 33-31 last week. The loss snapped the Titans' 2-game winning streak.
In a 4A I-Meck game next week Hopewell (3-5) takes on Vance, and Mallard Creek (7-1) will go up against West Charlotte also in a 4A I-Meck game.
