It was a good run, but the Bishop Carroll Huskies unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 63-51 to Westmont Hilltop. Bishop Carroll has struggled against the Hilltoppers recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Bishop Carroll's loss came despite strong showings from Max Oravec and Jace Casses. Oravec scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Casses scored 16 points along with four steals. Oravec continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Will Tremel, who scored five points along with four steals.
Bishop Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Westmont Hilltop, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.
Bishop Carroll will head out on the road to face off against the Golden Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hollidaysburg is on a four-game streak of home wins, the Huskies a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Westmont Hilltop will take on the Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Pennsylvania (Central is ranked 116th, while the Hilltoppers are ranked 105th).
