The Webb Spartans entered their tilt with the Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Webb breezed by Middle Tennessee Christian at home to the tune of 63-34.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashley Rucker, who scored nine points. Rucker scored a full 26.5% of Middle Tennessee Christian's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna clay Shirley, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Webb is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.
Webb will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chattanooga Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Middle Tennessee Christian and East Nashville Magnet will face off at 10:00 a.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. East Nashville Magnet will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
