Softball Recap: Memorial Has No Trouble Against Mckinley

Memorial won the last time they faced McKinley and things went their way on Monday too. The Red Devils were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Trojans. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Ramani Adams made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Abby Broz and Mileena Williams did most of the damage at the plate: Broz went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Williams went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Broz has posted since back in March. Savannah Cleland also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Memorial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Memorial pushed their record up to 10-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for McKinley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Trojans beat Memorial by a score of 13-6 on Tuesday.
