Danni McCann continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. That makes it 18 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Mayer's points.
North Phoenix Preparatory Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ellaina Wakeham, who scored six points along with 12 rebounds and six blocks. Those six blocks set a new season-high mark for her. Samantha Daniel was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Mayer now has a winning record of 9-8-1. As for North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Mayer will head out on the road to face off against Salome at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Salome will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mountainside at 5:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Mountainside is ranked 302nd, while North Phoenix Preparatory Academy is ranked 306th).
