Walsh Jesuit has won ten straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Revere has won ten straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Warriors will host the Minutemen at 5:00 p.m. Walsh Jesuit's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Revere's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Walsh Jesuit is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Ohio's top teams: Boardman, who was ranked ninth at the time (Walsh Jesuit was ranked fifth). The Warriors came up short against the Spartans on Wednesday, falling 7-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Revere). They never let Barberton get on the board and left with an 18-0 win on Friday. Considering the Minutemen have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ashley Gardner made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Revere got a massive performance out of Paige Kelley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. Kelley is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Kelley, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
Revere always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Barberton only posted an OBP of .167.
Revere has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Walsh Jesuit fell to 10-1.
