St. Paul Central hasn't had much luck against Washburn recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Minutemen will welcome the Millers at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
St. Paul Central is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over Harding on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Minutemen needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Cooper Entenman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs but no hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Entenman wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ademola Adedigba, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. St. Paul Central is 2-1 when Adedigba posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-7 otherwise. Another was Billy Vander Aarde, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
St. Paul Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Washburn beat Minneapolis South 9-5 on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Millers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.
Washburn got a big performance out of Wyatt Shelton, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Karn, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Washburn's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for St. Paul Central, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. St. Paul Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Washburn struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
St. Paul Central suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Washburn in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Minutemen have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
