The Union Colony Prep Timberwolves scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 75-26 victory over Gilpin County. Perhaps unsurprisinly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Union Colony Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tanner Sarchet, who scored 17 points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Pablo Mendoza-Munoz, who scored 20 points along with three steals.
Despite the defeat, Gilpin County saw an underclassman step up: Taurean Paxton scored 19 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Paxton scored 15 or more points.
Union Colony Prep pushed their record up to 5-11 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Gilpin County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Union Colony Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-47 defeat vs. Clear Creek on the 8th. Gilpin County has also already played their next game, a 76-13 defeat against Lyons on the 9th.
