Two dominant signal callers in James Dellavolpe and Easton Pace are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Warde Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Norwalk Bears at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, Warde didn't have too much trouble with Westhill as they won 28-13.

Andrew Shelov had another great game (as he tends to do), picking up 107 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He is becoming a predictor of Warde's success: when he posts at least two receiving touchdowns the team is 4-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
Warde's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Jamauri Brown was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.
Meanwhile, Norwalk got themselves on the board against Stamford on Saturday, but Stamford never followed suit. They blew past the Black Knights 34-0. The contest marked the Bears' most dominant victory of the season.
Norwalk's win came from a few key players Warde will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kevin Gordon, who picked up 144 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Those 144 receiving yards gave him a new career-high. Norwalk also got a significant boost from CK Vertus, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 83 yards.
Norwalk's run defense was locked in: Stamford could only muster 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Yancy Braxton for the heroic effort on defense: he. Norwalk didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.5.
Norwalk didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gordon and Gavin Riina. Jaxon Ermo was another major factor on D, picking up 0.5 sacks, making ten total tackles (1.0 for loss), and defending one pass.
Warde's record now sits at 5-3. As for Norwalk, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Warde was dealt a bruising 42-0 loss at the hands of Norwalk in their previous meeting back in November of 2024. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
