The Woodmont Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Clover Blue Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Woodmont can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Mauldin by a score of 34-21. The victory was just what Woodmont needed coming off of a 64-25 defeat in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tavorace Williams, who rushed for 165 yards. Ezekiel Belcher and his 100 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Woodmont's win.
Meanwhile, Clover had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 58-21 win over Rock Hill. Considering Clover has won five matchups by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Landon Stone was his usual excellent self, rushing for 197 yards while picking up 10.4 yards per carry. Stone is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last ten games he's played.
Their wins bumped Woodmont to 5-5 and Clover to 8-2.
