After a string of six wins, the Star Valley Braves's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 65-42 walloping at the hands of Cody. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Star Valley in their matchups with the Broncs: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Braves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emily Dana, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals. Dana hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Sheridan Coles was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.
Star Valley now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Cody, their win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Star Valley will head out on the road to challenge the Wolverines at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Riverton has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Cody, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Broncs at 12:00 p.m. Jackson Hole comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
