Bogue Chitto hasn't had much luck against West Lincoln recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Bogue Chitto fell victim to Enterprise and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 12-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Meanwhile, West Lincoln can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. Everything went their way against Franklin County as West Lincoln made off with a 14-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won four matchups by 12 runs or more so far this season.
Caroline Hedgepeth made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Hedgepeth was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Rainee Martin was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ryleigh Purdy, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
West Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
West Lincoln's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Bogue Chitto, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
West Lincoln's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bogue Chitto has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .454. It's a different story for West Lincoln, though, as they've only averaged .350. Will they be able to contain Bogue Chitto's hitters?
