The Rampart Rams had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a rough 85-54 loss at the hands of Rock Canyon. Rampart has not had much luck with Rock Canyon recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Rampart had strong showings from Myles Chavarria, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds, and Elias Bishop, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adeel Johnson El, who scored 5 points.
Rock Canyon can attribute much of their success to Kasen Lehman, who went 6 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 1 assists. Mac Terry was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 assists.
Rampart's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Rock Canyon, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Rampart will face off against Chatfield at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Chatfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Wednesday. As for Rock Canyon, they will take on Grandview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
