Even though Berean Christian scored an imposing 61 points on Tuesday, the Lakeway Christian Academy Lions still came out on top. Lakeway Christian Academy secured a 65-61 W over Berean Christian. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lakeway Christian Academy also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Berean Christian's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Connor Copeland, who scored 19 points along with 3 steals. Copeland scored a full 31.1% of Berean Christian's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Claiborne, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Lakeway Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Berean Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Lakeway Christian Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against Volunteer at 8:00 p.m. As for Berean Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Concord Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Concord Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday.
