The Whiteland Warriors can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They strolled past Martinsville with points to spare, taking the game 50-36. That's another feather in the cap for Whiteland, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Whiteland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sophia Dyer out in front who scored 20 points. Dyer continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carly Vondielingen, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Whiteland's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Martinsville, they bumped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whiteland will take on Indian Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Indian Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 263 points over their last four matchups. As for Martinsville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Center Grove at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Center Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday.
