It was a good run, but the Seminole Warhawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Manatee by a score of 38-36. Seminole was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Manatee apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Seminole's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Devon Swartz, who shot 4-for-5 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten blocks, and Laney Pearson who scored 18 points. Swartz has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played.
Seminole now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Manatee, they pushed their record up to 12-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seminole won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sports Leadership & Management at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Manatee, they will head out on the road to take on DeSoto County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
